Mr. Johnson graduated from St. Olaf College in 1984 (Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, With Distinction). He obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University
of Minnesota Law School where he was an associate editor of the Minnesota Law Review.
Following law school, Cary accepted a judicial clerkship with U.S. District Judge David Doty. After his clerkship, Cary worked for many years for a major U.S. law firm. He was an equity partner with the firm, handling intellectual property and shareholder litigation in the $1MM to $100MM range. In 2002, Cary won the second largest jury verdict in Minnesota. Cary remains a partner with the firm, but retired from active practice in 2003.
Cary now provides capital funding and strategic assistance to early stage companies. He has co-founded 5 companies and served on 10 boards of directors in a variety of industries.
